Our community has changed since COVID. We are a smaller group, and more flexible in our ministries - stirring away from a committee structure towards a more task-oriented approach.
Our Council is a dedicated team of leaders.
They look ahead and set goals, oversee the worship life of the congregation, finances, and the maintenance of the church building, provide support for the staff, and the pastor, plan social events, and so much more.
We have fun, too! Besides monthly business meetings the council comes together for retreats twice a year.
The Worship and Music Team is a backbone group of gifted musicians, and people who are passionate about the worship life of the congregation. They meet three times a year with the pastor to plan all worship services according to the Church seasons, and choose liturgy settings, hymns and special music that fit the theme for any given Sunday and reflect our rich liturgical traditions - ancient and recent. The group also organizes seasonal decorating of the sanctuary, church halls, etc.
The Worship Chorale meets on Thursdays at 7:00pm for practice. This group sings special anthems at the big festival services, and teaches the congregation new liturgical pieces and songs. If you love to sing and would like to join, please, contact the office. 250-860-2447
Meet monthly in the evening for a bible study, to fundraise and volunteer in our community.

FRIENDS welcomes new participants who like to gather for conversation, study, and lots of fun.
This committed group lives into Christ's compassion by regularly preparing soup and sandwiches once a month for the Gospel Mission Kelowna, and coordinating other outreach events for Christ Lutheran Church.
Currently we offer a Women's Bible Study group.
This team of handymen -and women is responsible for the care, protection and maintenance of the Church property and strata rental units.
Pastor Barbara moved with her family in the 90s from Germany. In 2011 she graduated from the Lutheran Theological Seminary, Saskatoon, SK and was ordained to the ministry of Word and Sacrament. She has served congregations in AB, and completed the training for Interim Pastor before beginning ministry with the people of CELC in 2022. Pastor Barbara has a passion for community - exploring where God is calling the church, and anything to do with worship. When not living her best pastor life, she enjoys long walks with her dog Terra, discovering Kelowna's fruiteria culture, and experimenting with photography.
Terra is an integral part in the life of our community. She is the friendly greeter to those who come, and a great listener with broad shoulders. She makes sure everybody is comfortable.
